Susan Sarandon Bio
It was following the 1968 Democratic convention and there was a casting call for a film that had several roles for the kind of young individuals who disrupted the convention. Joe (1970) was auditioned in New York by two recent Catholic University graduates. Chris Sarandon, who had studied to be an actor, was not selected by the casting committee. His wife Susan was offered the role in the film as Susan Compton. She plays the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill, Susan's drug dealer boyfriend, dies in the film. Joe (Peter Boyle) is a bigot, who works at an assembly line, is next introduced to Joe (Sarandon). Janet is involved with Dr. Frank n Furter, plays the role of Janet in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). More than 15 years after making her debut, Sarandon has finally been actively campaigning for a role that was a hit, Annie in Bull Durham (1988), taking a flight at her own expense from Rome from Rome to Los Angeles. "It was an incredible script... It was able to do rid of a lot of mythsand challenged American definition of success," she stated. "I went to the studio with Kevin Costner, sex some males in the studio and then hopped back on a plane. Tim Robbins (1988), her Bull Durham supporting actor, had already produced two sons in 1992 which allowed Sarandon in a position where she could leave her home and take on demanding roles. It was the result of four Academy Award nominations in 1990s as well as the award for best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995). Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980) was her first Academy Award nomination.
