Courtney Thorne-Smith (born November 8 in 1967) is an American actress. Her most notable roles include Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She was also on the show as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy in Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in Menlo Park in the south of San Francisco. Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Both were computer-based market researchers. Courtney, who was seven years old at the time, divorced her father, Walter Smith. She was a part of both of her parents for a variety of times. Jennifer, her older sister, is an advertising executive. She graduated in 1985 from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. She also performed with the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley while in high school. Thorne Smith made her first movie appearance in the 1986 film Lucas alongside Winona Ryder and Corey Haim. The actress was also in a number of movies in the late 1980s, such as Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (1987), and Side Out (1990). In 1998 she starred in the box office flop Chairman of the board with Carrot Top. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, the actress was married geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple separated in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group, marketing company) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. She gave birth to Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008 at 40 years of age.
